The global data center power load is expected to double by 2030, but it will remain just 3% of the global electric load and 1.5% of total energy sector emissions. Contrary to popular belief, AI is projected to cause a net reduction on total global emissions. The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that just by implementing all of the currently available AI solutions, it would cause a 5% reduction in energy-industry emissions.
